Mario L. Valenzuela

My name is Mario L. Valenzuela, I am an experienced criminal defense attorney with more than 32 years experience in trying criminal cases in both State and Federal courts. I was born and raised in Southern California and am fully capable of speaking, writing and reading Spanish.

I completed all of my education in the Southern California schools having received my Associate Arts (A.A.) Degree from Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California, my Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Degree in Political Science from the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1969 and completed my Juris Doctorate (J.D.) Degree from UCLA Law School in 1972.

After graduating from law school, I returned to the Inland Empire area and worked as a Deputy Public Defender for the County of Riverside. As a Public Defender, I gained a lot of experience in defending criminal cases having tried more than 40 misdemeanor and felony trials including, but not limited to, serious gang murder and narcotic distribution cases.

I began my private practice in criminal law in 1984 and have spent the last 28 years defending criminal cases throughout the State Courts in California by successfully defending people charged with various criminal offenses from DUI's to serious and/or violent crimes; including murder, manslaughter, assault with a deadly weapon (ADW), sexual assault, domestic violence, child molest, arson, and                 large-scale drug offenses. I have litigated hundreds of misdemeanor and felony cases including two death penalty cases during my private practice in criminal law.

As a private practitioner in criminal law, I have also represented over 200 clients in Federal District Courts nationwide including cases in California, New Mexico, New York, Illinois, Hawaii and Florida. I have defended clients charged with federal crimes such as large-scale drug offenses

(RICO violations), bank robberies, Medicare fraud cases, mortgage fraud cases, homicides, racketeering, money laundering and smuggling, transporting, or harboring unlawful aliens.

As your attorney I recognize that each case is about a person's life and affects not only the person charged with a crime but also his/her family and loved ones. I know the importance of family support during these difficult times and will make every effort, at my client's request, to keep the family informed of the status of your case.

As your lawyer, I am thoroughly committed to investigating and defending your case as against the all powerful government be it the District Attorney's Office or the United States Attorney's Office. I have the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to fight the fight when my clients cannot.

You do not have to face your criminal charges alone nor do you have to accept a plea bargain or sentence because the prosecutor threatens you to accept it or face additional charges or a longer sentence. I and my team of specially hand picked paralegals, investigators and top forensic experts will defend you in court and, if necessary, negotiate a favorable outcome in your case both in the courtroom and/or prior to the matter being filed.

As your attorney I have the experience and expertise to represent your interest to the fullest extent under the law. I will leave no stone unturned to guarantee that your legal and constitutional rights are effectively protected.
